Purushasuktham

What are the benefits of chanting Purushasuktham?

Sukta chanting is one of the various types of chanting practices for worshiping God. Mantra chanting, hymn chanting, name chanting, etc.

In the  Purushasuktham, the word Purushan causes confusion for many. In Purushasuktha, the word Purusha does not mean Male. Rather, Purusha is thought to have the meaning of God (Virat Purusha). Understand one thing: If the meaning of many words in the Vedas is not understood correctly, many misunderstandings may arise. That is, if we interpret the meaning of Vedic mantras/words without studying the Niruktam, we will not understand the meaning intended by the sage.

Some partisans, without understanding the meaning of the Vedas, misinterpret the Purushasuktham. One of them is that the Purushasuktham was made only for men to chant; it discriminates against women, and it is against equality between men and women.

The sage has given great advice to mankind called the Purusha Suktam philosophy. It is a noble way of life that aims at liberation by aligning material desires with Dharma.

In this, the sage has given the meaning of the word Purusha as the human race/human being. Without understanding that, many people understand that the Purusha Suktam is only for men and spread it.

 Understand one thing

Anyone (woman/man) can chant the Purusha Suktam by knowing the meaning, with purity of the letters, and in the way of Sutra chanting.

Sahasra Shirsha Purusha : Sahasraksha: Sahasrapad

Purushasuktham is in the tenth mandala of the Rigveda.  Based on this, the Chaturvarnya system came into existence. The four caste categories are Brahmins, Kshatriyas, Vaishyas, and Shudras. It is said in the Purushasuktha that Brahmins, Kshatriyas, Vaishyas, and Shudras were created from the head, arms, legs, and feet of Brahma (Purusha).

Purushasuktha Yantra.

It is said that if the Purushasuktha Yantra is used, one will be blessed with children, long life, fame, and beauty, and that it will destroy all kinds of sins, increase wealth, and achieve the goals of virtue, love, and liberation.  It is said that if a pregnant woman who is less than three months pregnant consumes this butter/ghee before the sixth hour of the day, she will give birth to a son who is very intelligent and equal to Lord Vishnu. It is also said that if this butter/ghee is consumed by drawing this butter/ghee, and chanting the PurushSukta, severe poisoning, severe witchcraft, and mental illnesses such as madness and epilepsy are cured, and she will get well.

Purushasuktha is the best Vedic mantra for all-around Siddhi. Offering butter and performing Purushasuktha in Vaishnava temples is good for quick relief from suffering.  Chanting the Purushasuktha is also good for wealth, divine influence, financial gain, and business prosperity.
